Forgive them, for they know not what they do

Updated: Apr 3

As I hung upon the cross, bloodied and broken, with the weight of sin upon My shoulders, My heart was not filled with wrath but with compassion. The soldiers who had nailed My hands and feet, the rulers who mocked and condemned Me, and the crowds who stood at the foot of the cross, shouting for My death—all of them were in darkness.

In that moment of unspeakable agony, I looked upon those who had caused My suffering, and I spoke these words: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” These words were not just for those who stood before Me in that hour, but for all who would ever hear My voice. I came to seek and save the lost, and I sought to save even those who did not know they were lost.

Do you not see? The heart of man is blind to the truth, and without My light, they walk in darkness. The world is filled with sin, and sin has blinded the eyes of all who dwell in it. When you wrong others, when you hurt others, when you sin against the Father, you often do so out of ignorance. The darkness of this world clouds the minds and hearts of men, leading them to act in ways that are contrary to the will of God.

Yet, I do not come to condemn. I come to heal. I do not seek to punish, but to restore. Forgiveness is the heart of the gospel, for through My forgiveness, the world is reconciled to the Father. I took upon Myself the full weight of your sins, not because you deserved it, but because I love you with an everlasting love.

Look to the cross. Here, I poured out My life for the very ones who despised and rejected Me. While you were still sinners, I died for you. My heart was not filled with anger, but with love. I saw beyond the moment, beyond the cruelty and hatred of the world, and I saw the redemption of mankind. Through My suffering, I would bring forth life. Through My death, I would destroy death. And through My forgiveness, I would offer salvation to all who believe.

So, you who have been wronged, who have suffered at the hands of others, forgive. Do not hold onto bitterness, for I did not hold onto bitterness when you nailed Me to the cross. Forgive those who trespass against you, even as I have forgiven you. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

In this act of forgiveness, you will be free. You will be set free from the chains of resentment, bitterness, and anger. You will be set free from the power of sin and death. For when you forgive, you become like Me—like the One who bore the sins of the world and paid the price for all mankind.

Remember, My beloved, forgiveness is not merely a command—it is the path to healing.

Forgive, as I have forgiven you, and you will find peace in your soul. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is always right, for it sets the captives free and brings glory to the Father.

Forgive them, for they know not what they do. This is the way of the cross. This is the way of love.

Note: These are my personal conversations with GOD. If you want a relationship with Him, as revealed in His message, simply remember to be still and you will know… (Psalm 46:10)
